Meet Dinner Party

Make any night a dinner party with really good wine.
A dinner party can be a table full of friends, or it can be you, takeout, and a bottle you’ve been saving for no particular reason. Either one gets better with a wine that’s exactly right, chili oil that does most of the cooking, crackers that disappear before anyone sits down, and a candle or serving bowl that makes the whole thing feel intentional.
Dinner Party is a Richmond neighborhood wine shop for all of it. We’ll help you find wines you’ll actually love drinking, without the guessing or the pressure, plus the pantry finds and goods for the table that make an ordinary night feel memorable. Sometimes all it takes is a really good bottle and something salty in a bowl.

This is Annie.
Dinner Party is owned by Annie Barrow, a sommelier, wine educator, and Virginia native. Before wine, Annie worked as a chef in professional kitchens in Boston and New York City.
She caught the wine bug after taking a job at a neighborhood wine shop in Manhattan’s East Village. That job turned into nearly seven years of managing the shop, buying its wines, and helping customers find bottles they genuinely loved drinking.
After almost a decade in New York, one child became three, and Annie and her family moved back to Virginia. At first, her plan was simply to open a wine shop. Then, while working through Virginia’s ABC licensing process, she learned that food needed to be part of it, too.
That turned out to be the best part. Wine rarely shows up alone—it comes with dinner, takeout, snacks, a host gift, or a table full of people. So why build a shop around the bottle without including everything you want to have alongside it?
Dinner Party opened in Richmond in November 2024 as a wine shop for all of the above.
