Store Policies, Shipping & Returns

We pack and fulfill every online order in-house at our Richmond shop. Here’s what to expect when you order from Dinner Party.

Order Processing

Orders are packed in the order received and generally ship Tuesday through Friday, excluding holidays. We work hard to prepare orders promptly, but please allow up to five business days for fulfillment.

Shipping timeframes shown at checkout represent estimated carrier transit times only. They do not include the time required to prepare and pack your order, and delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. Once an order has been packed or transferred to the carrier, we may be unable to modify or cancel it.

Where We Ship

We currently ship orders only within the United States. Wine shipping is available to all states except Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi, Rhode Island, and Utah.

Shipping Addresses

Please provide a complete, accurate, and secure delivery address at checkout. Customers are responsible for errors or omissions in the shipping information provided.

Once a carrier confirms delivery to the correct address, Dinner Party is not responsible for packages that are subsequently lost, misplaced, or stolen. We’re happy to help you begin a carrier claim, but replacement or reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

Shipping Wine

Someone age 21 or older must be present with a valid government-issued photo ID to sign for every wine delivery. Wine cannot be left unattended or shipped to a P.O. box.

We recommend choosing a secure address where an adult will be available to receive the package. If an order is returned because of unsuccessful delivery attempts, an incorrect or incomplete address, refusal, or the carrier’s inability to obtain an adult signature, the original shipping charge is nonrefundable. An additional shipping fee must be paid before the order can be sent again.

To protect your bottles, we may briefly hold wine shipments during periods of extreme heat or cold. We’ll let you know if a weather hold affects your order.

Local Delivery

Local delivery is available for eligible addresses. Place your order through our website and select local delivery at checkout to see availability and delivery fees for your address.

If an order contains wine, someone age 21 or older must be available with a valid government-issued photo ID to accept the delivery.

Free In-Store Pickup

Free pickup is available at Dinner Party, located at 3402 West Cary Street in Richmond. We’ll email you when your order is ready, and you may collect it during regular store hours.

Anyone picking up an order containing wine must be at least 21 years old and may be asked to present a valid government-issued photo ID.
